Types of Infections That You Should Know

Types of infections are the microorganisms that cause infection in the body. These microorganisms can be categorized into five: Streptococcus, Candida, HPV, Listeria and Bacillus. Of these, the Staphylococcus is the most common cause of infections. The bacterium can multiply and create infections if it is not treated promptly. When the bacteria is left untreated, it results in a more complicated infection and later on, a deadly one.

The other three types of infections are not as common as the Staphylococcus is the least transmitted. The third type of infection is caused by viruses and these types of virus are called as infectious agents. Some common diseases that are caused by viruses include: anthrax, tularemia, distemper and hepatitis. These types of viruses also affect the animals and they are also transmitted through infected humans.

Some types of infections are contagious but the disease can also be self transmitted. For instance, the diseases that are caused by bacteria such as urinary tract infections and skin infections are considered to be self transmitted infections. However, some infections such as influenza and measles are considered to be indirect contacts. Indirect contacts means touching the infected area and touching someone else who is infected.

Some types of diseases are considered to be bacterial infections because these are transmitted through a person’s immune system. Examples of these types of infections are sepsis and HIV. Sepsis is the condition when the bacteria enter the blood stream and the immune system prevents the bacteria from entering the human body and HIV is the virus that attacks the human body and destroys the immune system, making it unable to fight other diseases.

Some organisms can also affect other people even without their knowledge. It can occur through indirect contact or when you come in contact with the organisms while coming into contact with a sick person. Examples of organisms that can cause infections include things like hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis and trichomoniasis. There are other types of infections that only affect the outermost layer of the skin, called the epidermis.

These are just some types of infections. You can also get from different types of things. This includes things like animals, plants and fungi. Fungi such as yeast can spread through skin to skin contact which is why it is important to carefully wash your hands after touching different types of fungi. It is also important to always wear gloves when going to pools or public areas to prevent your hands from being exposed to bacteria.
